Advisor of School Education and State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, on May 28 and May 29 visited Government High School (GHS) Mon Town ‘C’ and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Mon respectively.
According to a DIPR report, the advisor inspected and assessed the building and infrastructure of the schools. He said the “construction” of school buildings at Mon was better compared to other districts.
Yhome called upon the school authorities not to depend everything on the government. Pointing out that many of the teachers and staff are local people, he urged them to be responsible for the improvement of the schools.
Yhome assured to look into the matter regarding shortage of teachers. He also asked the school principal and the staff to let the students be involved in the cleanliness of the school. The advisor also assured that 40 to 50 schools would be upgraded within 5–10 years.
Yhome was accompanied by commissioner & secretary, school education SCERT Kevileno Angami, mission director, Temsunaro and EE, Er. Hokato Sema from engineering cell.
