The District Education Mission Office, Samagra Shiksha, Phek, held a distribution program for aids and appliances for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) as part of the Inclusive Education initiative on September 19.
The program followed a medical assessment camp conducted in February 2024 and was organized in collaboration with the State Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha, and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland.
A press release from District Education Mission Office, Samagra Shiksha informed that the distribution event took place at the EBRC block level, with officials from the State Mission Office and technicians from ELITE Dimapur in attendance.
A total of 48 powered spectacles, 1 transtibial prosthesis, 5 ankle foot orthoses, 2 cervical braces, and 2 neck braces were distributed to CWSN students and children receiving home-based education.
The District Education Mission Office, on behalf of the CWSN students, expressed its gratitude to the state government for providing these much-needed aids, which will significantly enhance the lives and education of the children in the district.
