The annual conference cum get together of Lotha Officers Association (LOA) was held on September 28, at Angh Hall, Agri Expo, 4th mile, Chümoukedima.
According to a DIPR report, Principal Secretary, E.M Patton graced the conference as the special guest. In his speech he exhorted the officers never to underestimate others. He encouraged the gathering to work hard, pray and believe in God Almighty. Emphasising on the importance of relationship and networking he asserted building strong relationship and networking as a good investment.
Dr. M.L Ngullie (Retd Principal) encouraged the gathering of officers to invent new ideas and implement them so that one does not become obsolete. Further he advised them to keep themselves updated to keep pace with the changing times.
Superintending Engineer AIR & DD (CCW) Kolkata, Er. N. Izamo Yanthan, who also spoke at the conference, challenged the officers to be the change maker wherever they are posted, with their valuable contribution. Stressing on the importance of participation, Yanthan encouraged them for their physical and financial participation in the neighbourhood /community not for one’s personal gain but for the welfare and betterment of the society.
Director of Income tax, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Nongothung Jungio highlighted change as the driving force that embraced innovation and observed that resistance of change will make one lack behind. To stay relevant in this ever-changing world, taxation department is keeping pace with the changing times of digital revolution he added.
Additional DGP (Administration) Nagaland, Renchamo P. Kikon also spoke during the conference, he challenged the officers for introspecting whether their performance serves the purpose for contributing and safeguarding the larger interest of the society.
He reminded them to constantly re-evaluate the correlation between their performance and purpose. While pointing out that conferences provides opportunity for reflecting on the past and retrospecting the present, Kikon called upon the Lotha officers for introspecting whether the laid down goals and objectives of the Association are served and justified.
Delivering the welcome note, LOA president K. Libanthung Lotha, appreciated the support and cooperation of the Lotha officers, and while tagging them as the cream of the society, reminded them that the responsibilities given to the officers with trust and confidence needs to be carried out thus bearing fruits for the coming generation.
On behalf of LOA, the president made an appeal to all the Lotha officers and intellectuals working elsewhere to give their best wherever they work and to keep up the good image of the Lothas leaving an exemplary legacy.
Invocation prayer was pronounced by Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar, pastor Rev. Limhathung Lotha, while a minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed Lorha officers.
Other highlights of the program included special renditions by Thunglamo Ngullue, Eyilobeni Kikon, Emilo Patton and entertainment. Vote of thanks was proposed by LOA vice president, Kyopenthung Tsopoe and benediction was offered by Holy Cross Hr. Secondary school Dimapur, principal, Rev. Fr. Philip Yanpvuthung. On the occasion the special guest launched the 2nd edition of LOA’s history booklet.
