Nagaland: Pinnacle Skills trains youths on self-employment

Pinnacle Skills organized a certification and kit distribution programme for Self-employed Barber, Batch 1, under Innovative Scheme 2023-24 Government of Nagaland, at its Sematila Centre on Monday.


Addressing the trainees, special guest, District Employment Officer, Dimapur, Gideon L Sumi, acknowledged Pinnacle Skills as one of the most renounced skill training provider in the state and applauded them for catering to multiple and diverse courses for unemployed youths.


He informed that state government was providing training to unemployed youths with the purpose to provide employment and generate sustainable livelihood.


Dwelling on the importance of skilling, Gideon pointed that skilling was a never ending process, and encouraged all participants to up-skill themselves in all ways possible to be the best as they can be in their field.


He said that with proper skills and certification, one can approach financial institutions for loans and other schemes to expand their business.


He pointed out that Nagas have very little skilled manpower in haircutting (barber) profession, and encouraged the participants to train fellow community people and work together and expand their business.


In conclusion, he encouraged participants to have determination to achieve their goals and also to regard failure as pillar of success. Delivering the closing remarks, Executive Director, Training and HR, Pinnacle Skills, Jenny Haining Murry, thanked the state government for giving opportunity to unemployed youths to attend training for employment through innovative schemes and programmes.


To the trainees, she urged them to capitalize the opportunity provided by the state government, and encouraged them to utilize their skills and work hard with positive attitude.


It may be noted that a total of 15 candidates were trained and certified under the programme. All participants were provided with certificates and kits to start their one setups.
