Nagaland: NPF welcomes MHA initiative to resolve Manipur conflict

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has welcomed the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) initiative to convene a meeting with the elected representatives of Naga, Kuki, and Meitei communities in Delhi.

In a press note issued by its press bureau, NPF said the meeting was timely, as tensions continued to disrupt peace and harmony among these ethnic groups.

The NPF said it viewed this step as critical for initiating meaningful dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Manipur.

Recent media reports indicated varying perspectives on the nature and outcomes of the meeting, with some sources expressing optimism about reconciliation and others voicing skepticism regarding the willingness of all parties to engage constructively.

In light of these differing viewpoints, the NPF urged all participants to approach the discussions with an open mind, reconciliation and mutual respect.

Mentioning that it anticipated a renewed commitment from all parties to ensure the protection and safety of all citizens, the party reiterated that it remained supportive of any initiative that promoted the welfare of all communities and restored normalcy in the state.
