The golden jubilee celebration of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Noklak was held under the theme “A Golden Legacy” at Multi-Disciplinary Stadium, Noklak on October 25.
According to DIPR, P. Longon, MLA speaking on the occasion as a special guest, congratulated the teachers, staff and students of GHSS Noklak on reaching the important milestone. He paid compliments and respect to the pioneers who had brought the institution to its present status and level of growth.
“Today, we celebrate this occasion because of the sincere service and hard work rendered by the pioneers of this school”, Longon said. As an alumnus and former teacher of GHSS Noklak, P. Longon expressed his immense pride and gratitude as the school celebrate 50 remarkable years of journey.
He urged the teachers, staff, students and all the various stakeholders to perform their respective roles and collectively join hands to restore/regain the good name of the school and the trust of the people.
Earlier, P. Longon unveiled the jubilee monolith and also released a souvenir. In his short speech, alumni of GHSS Noklak, Er. Leyang, Addl. Chief Engineer & HoD, PHED said that, as an alumnus of GHSS Noklak, this school had brought up many good students and achieved great heights. He urged them to keep the same spirit in the days to come.
While encouraging the students, he advised them to go on the right path with a clear mindset, be hardworking and be honest so that they will achieve success in life. EAC Noklak Bangjunglemba and president Khiamniungan Students Union Shangchiu also spoke on the occasion.
Jubilee greetings and facilitation were taken by M Ngou, Planning Board, special prayer was led by Rev Hempao ES KBCA, and special songs were sung by the School Choir and Quartet by GHSS Students. Vof thanks was delivered by principal GHSS Noklak Y Kongkhao Lushing and the program was chaired by Arenkaba and Tsuwing Khiamniungan.
Longon inaugurates traffic island
P Longon, MLA inaugurated a Traffic Island, Marketing Sheds and other projects at Noklak Town on October 25. Speaking on the occasion as special guest, P. Longon lauded the administrator, Noklak Town Council, chairman of all wards under Noklak Town and all the stakeholders for successful completion of the works and projects on time. During the short programme, which was held at DC Conference hall, P. Longon called for co-operation to the government for all round development in the district.
In his keynote address, SDO (Civil) & administrator, Noklak Town Council Vikhoto Richa highlighted the various developmental activities taken up in Noklak Town.
President, All Ward Union, Noklak Town, Imkhong and Sukoi, GB of Noklak Town also spoke during the occasion.
