ZLSU temporarily suspends planned phase-II agitation

Zeliang Students Union (ZLSU) Monday announced its decision to temporarily suspend the planned second phase of agitation while “maintaining momentum with the ongoing first phase.”

ZLSU through its medial cell said that the decision to suspend planned stir reflected its “commitment to constructive dialogue” with educational authorities regarding urgent issues affecting the government schools in Peren district by the recent rationalization.

Affirming its commitment to seeking constructive solutions, the union expressed belief that pausing the second phase would allow dialogue with officials to address the demands surrounding teacher retention or replacement effectively.

ZLSU expressed hope that its “proactive approach” would lead to positive changes in the district’s government established schools.
“Although we are halting this phase of action, our dedication to advocating for quality education remains unwavering,” ZLSU said.

Further, the union maintained that it remained committed to engaging with the department authorities to ensure that its voices were heard and needs of students were prioritized. “This temporary pause reflects the union’s strategic approach to ensuring that its actions lead to the desired outcomes for all students,” ZLSU maintained.
