Reacting to a news item, “NNC endorse impeachment of Singnya”, the FGN has clarified that the claimed made by the recent breakaway group was to draw the attention of Naga people with “false and fabricated statement”.
In a press release, ministry of Rali Wali Affairs MIP of FGN explained that under Article 144(1) in the Yehzabo of Nagaland, “a Central Executive Council which will guide and control the political policy and the decision of the Nation”.
Therefore, as per the Yehzabo, the “President/Vice President NNC (central) with all Regional Presidents of NNC and its colleagues should have collective decision. But unfortunately, the Yehzabo itself failed to recognize to see any validity on their press statement (Zhopra Vero)”.
FGN said since, political matter has been shared constantly, but due to “his health problem, the government authorities” met Senka Ao, President NNC on October 28, 2024 at Mokokchung and share the political development of the government and the aftermath on impeachment of Zhopra Vero, Kedallo from NNC/FGN.
After a fruitful deliberation, the NNC president conveyed that, nobody consulted him within the NNC set up, and was not aware and has not express any words to anybody endorsing the impeachment of Brig. (Retd) S. Singnya.
Therefore, FGN said the impeachment of Singnya was “null and void”.
Further, FGN said the press statement was the “by-product/handiwork of Bendang Sangtam, the present vice-president NNC along with some self-vested interest” trying to divide the political lines of NNC.
FGN Tikhir region supports
FGN Tikhir region has unanimously extended full support to the presidentship of Brig, Rtd S. Singnya and described his impeachment as null and void.
In a statement, medanpeyu Apong K Tikhir and secretary Khiapong Tikhir said that the declaration was made after a long discussion along with the regional members and army high ranking officers at the meeting at Kiusam town on October 28.
FGN Chang region supports
The NNC/FGN Chang region termed that the impeachment of Brig (Retd) S. Singnya, kedahge is null and void as it was beyond the Yehzabo of Federal Government of Nagaland. In a press release Midan Peyu Chang Region, has unanimously extended its full support to the leadership of Brig (Retd) S. Singnya Kedahge (president) NNC/FGN.
The decision was taken at a meeting in the presence of Medan Peyu, Kilonsers, Deputy Kilonsers, Tatars, Leacy Hohos and Naga Army Officers Chang Region on October 30 at Tuensang HQ.
After the discussion, the house deliberately declare that the press statement made by Zhopra Vero in local newspaper on October 21 which indicates the impeachment of Brig (Retd) S. Singnya Kedahge is null and void.
