The Chümoukedima Ao Youth Organization (CALT) has strongly condemned the harassment and forceful extortion demand of Rs. 50 lakh allegedly made by NSCN-K (Khango) group against one Aolemba Lkr on December 16, 2024.
In a press note, CALT said that Aolemba, a bonafide resident of 7th Mile Chümoukedima and an active CALT member, is also the chairman of Country Craft Development Society. A President’s and Governor’s awardee from Nagaland, the youth body said Aolemba deserves respect and not harassment.
According to CALT, an FIR regarding the matter was lodged at Chümoukedima Police Station on December 17. However, CALT expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in apprehending the culprits who made the extortion demand. CALT has called on the concerned authorities to expedite the arrest of those involved and to ensure the safety of its members.
