Lotha Catholic Eloe Khumshum Kma silver jubilee

The Lotha Catholic Eloe Khumshum, Kohima (LCEK) celebrated its silver jubilee on January 30, 2025, at Peraciezie (Gasia), Kohima, under the theme, “I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gave me” (Philippians 4:13).

A press release issued by media committee of the jubilee informed that the celebration began with a Holy Eucharist, led by Parish Priest, St. Francis De Sales Church Kohima, Rev. Fr. Mathew Mhabemo, as the main celebrant. He also dedicated and unveiled the jubilee monolith.

During the homily, Parish Priest, St. Joseph’s Church, Longleng, Rev. Fr. Matthew Rhanben, congratulated the women’s association on completing 25 years of service. He emphasized that a jubilee is not merely about gatherings, feasting, forgiveness, unity, or peace, but holds a deeper spiritual significance.

He encouraged the congregation to extend love and support to the poor, widows, orphans, and all those in need. He highlighted that the true essence of jubilee is fulfilled when acts of kindness are extended to others, as the prayers of the needy bring blessings to those who help them.

Rev. Fr. Rhanben wished the gathering a meaningful jubilee and prayed for peace, unity, prosperity, and success in future endeavors. Earlier in the programme, the jubilee flag was hoisted by Chancellor and Secretary of the Commission for School Education, Diocese of Kohima, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel.

The jubilee hall was dedicated by assistant Parish Priest of St. Francis De Sales Church, Kohima, Rev. Fr. K. Dominic Rau, while the jubilee souvenir was launched by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Gaikhang. The lighting of the jubilee candle was done by Director of Ave Maria Divine Prayer Centre, Zhadima, Rev. Fr. Glanson Chacko. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by jubilee convenor, Nyanbeni Lotha.
