To commemorate International Women’s Day, Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA), in collaboration with the Tesen Students Union and Tesen Women Societies, organised a Legal Awareness Program on March 8, 2025, at the Tesenlui Council Hall.
The event was-attended by students from the Christian School Tesen, student leaders, village leaders, and members of the Tesen Women Societies.
The program commenced with Adv. Kidungyi Putlang, a Panel Lawyer with PDLSA, who introduced the audience to the Legal Services Authorities Act. He elaborated on the role of PDLSA and its efforts to provide free legal services, ensuring access to justice for marginalized and vulnerable sections of society.
Adv. Italang Ramlia provided insights into the Nagaland Village and Area Council Act, discussing the jurisdiction and limitations of village courts. Adv. Kewithinwang, Panel Lawyer, addressed the women members, aligning her talk with the International Women’s Day theme: “Accelerate Action”, which calls for urgent and transformative change to advance gender equality. The program concluded with an inspiring speech and vote of thanks by Iherang Putlang Tesenlui chairman.
