3rd Mokokchung inter-ward football tourney

The third edition of the Mokokchung inter-ward football tournament would be organized by Marepkong Youth Association (MYA) on the theme “Towards Excellence” from May 4-14, 2022 at Imkongmeren Sports complex, Mokokchung.
Addressing a press conference, organizing committee convenor Bendangnukshi informed that the District Sports Office will be one of the main sponsors of the tournament.
With an aim to promote local talent, organisers said the tournament was exclusively open to young talents who were permanent residents of Mokokchung. The champion of the tournament would walk away with a cash prize of Rs.50,000 and Rs.30,000 for the runner-up with trophy and certificates. The tournament also has individual prizes including highest goal scorer, best defender, best goal keeper, best midfielder and most promising player.
The organisers informed that the association aims to make the tournament a self-financed tournament and also to induct certified coach for each team by 2025.
MYA also aims to conduct coaching training clinic in collaboration with the Nagaland Football coaches Association.
To encourage the participating teams, the association also shares the revenue generated from ticket selling with the participating teams each year.
