4 BJP districts root for Er. Kropol for induction as cabinet minister

Correspondent

BJP workers from four districts (Kohima, Phek, Tseminyu and Peren) have appealed to Central and State leadership of the party to ensure a cabinet berth for Er Kropol Vitsu, BJP representative from 15 Southern Angami-II assembly constituency.

Addressing media persons at the party headquarters here Saturday, presidents of four mandals urged the party leadership to consider giving “a good berth” to Kropol so that years of party candidate drought from four regions be compensated through his leadership. While thanking the party high command at the Centre and the state for heeding to the request for a party ticket from Tenyimi area, BJP Kohima mandal president, Khrielie Üsou said the party workers had diligently worked and secured a seat now. Üsou said it was important to allot a cabinet seat to Kropol in the new government so party workers from the four units work “more effectively and efficiently”.
Pointing out that there were 14 constituencies under four mandals, Üsou said Kropol should be given an opportunity to enable him to look after the needs of the karyakartas under all four mandals.

Üsou said unlike other parts of the state, the four units only got one ticket. However, he said that now since Kropol was elected there was the need to have an equal voice among the party workers.
Meanwhile, Üsou expressed concern over government employees and bureaucrats openly campaigning against BJP candidate Kropol during the elections.
He said that “open and illegal indulgence” in electioneering by some senior bureaucrats and government servants under 15 Southern Angami-II AC would be taken up seriously with necessary actions.
State executive and representative of Tseminyu district, Thomas Magh, said that although the region had been deprived of an elected representative, the situations have changed now. He said it was important that the party functionaries give an opportunity to the lone representative in the form of a good portfolio. Other mandal leaders who attended during press conference included BJP Phek unit vice president, S Pusai Rhakho and Peren unit president, Huzantabdo Meriem.
