Five cadets of NCC Group HQ, Kohima participated in the All India Republic Day Camp organized by Directorate General of National Cadets Corps (DG NCC) at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantonment, New Delhi from January 1 to 29.
In a press statement, PRO (defense) informed that during the month long camp, the cadets represented the North Eastern Region (NER) directorate and participated in a large number of activities, including cultural competitions, national integration awareness programmes and institutional training. The contingent from Nagaland comprised of four girls’ cadets from 01 Nagaland NCC Girls Battalion and one boy cadet from 24 (I) Nagaland NCC Boys Company.
The cadets were Senior Under Officer (SUO) Kenlumle of St Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama, who was part of the NCC marching contingent on the Kartavya Path, to mark celebrations of the 74th Republic Day on January 26.
Corporal Rekuyiheule of St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama, Junior Under Officer Mhasireinuo Phewhuo and Sergeant Bokai H Zhimo of Tetso College, Dimapur participated in cultural events and the Prime Minister’s Rally held at the Cariappa Parade Ground on January 28. Cadet Teisozhanuo Gabriella Richa of Little Flower School, Kohima, the only Junior Wing cadet to be selected from NCC Group HQ, Kohima for the camp, participated in various cultural events.
