90.8 Hills FM announces partnership with TaFMA

To promote and encourage local artistes, 90.8 Hills FM announced partnership with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) on Monday at its station, 90.8 Hills FM, 3rd Floor, Hotel Sente, Golaghat Road, Dimapur.
Announcing this in a press conference, 90.8 Hills FM managing director, Imali Hesso informed that 90.8 Hills FM-Nagaland was the first community radio station initiated by an NGO and inaugurated on September 8, 2022, with the vision to be the voice of the people.
It also informed that the station covers Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima and parts of Assam and other adjoining areas. The community radio is a station operated, owned and driven by communities they serve, it provides platform for enabling individuals, groups and communities to share experiences and become active creators and contributors to the community. It was also mentioned that the station produces contents that are relevant to the community but also covers issues pertinent globally regardless of the demographic environment. Radio jockey and mentor, Vitono Gugu Haralu, who disclosed about the collaboration with TaFMA, said that the new venture will focus on giving artistes the needed exposure to their talents via the radio channel. The partnership will be Season-1, to encourage artistes to be featured providing a medium to bring back the culture of listening engage to know about the artiste at large. The platform will not only be about musicians but also provide platform for art such as film makers and encourage indigenous culture art form.
She mentioned that starting from May 11, 2023, 90.8 Hills FM will be featuring home grown artistes and bands from across Nagaland every Thursday 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
