AAGBA threatens indefinite bandh along Niuland road

Ato Area GBs’ Association (AAGBA) has expressed displeasure over the failure of the contractor to start black topping works from HN-29 Central Jail to Atu Ghoki, Hozukhe village. In a press release, AAGBA chairman Sheyipu Zhimomi, general secretary Kughato Yeptho and joint secretary Kavi N Zhimomi have threatened to impose indefinite bandh starting March 31, 2023 on highway along entire Ato area jurisdiction if their three-point demand was not fulfilled. AAGBA informed that the resolution to impose bandh was taken its meeting held on March 24, 2023.
The three-point demand include: no extension of the contract period to be given to the contractor as per joint resolution; firm (M/S Vipe Enterprise) to be blacklisted immediately and incomplete portion should be completed immediately by a different contractor.
According to AAGBA, in the joint resolution dated February 14, 2023 between the administration, AAGBA and the contractor, the contractor agreed to start work immediately. However, AAGBA said that the contractor failed to keep his word time and again.
Reminding that the district administration it had earlier called off the indefinite bandh due to the appeal made by DC’s office, the AAGBA expressed hope that the administration would take immediate actions against the contractor.
