Adhere to P&AR rules: CTANon contract appointments

Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has appealed to responsible authority to adhere to the P&AR rules and “not to misuse and manipulate.”
CTAN through its media cell pointed out that appointments made on contract/engagement basis were purely on temporary basis. It also stated that contractual appointments were meant for one year service to fill the gap of those posts in departments that were vacated due to promotion/retirements/death etc.
CTAN stated that contract appointments were made so as to keep the office functioning until the time those vacancies were requisitioned, advertised and examinations conducted through NPSC.
Further, CTAN pointed out that appointment letters/offer letters given to contract employees clearly mentions about their temporary status for just one year.
CTAN, therefore, asserted that contract service and the work experience cannot be used as an extra ordinary provision for people on contract and depriving the rest of the aspirants.
It reminded that every department was bound to be limited within the P&AR rules laid down for NPSC, adding that there was no existing rule that says, “extra marks or bonus” for people on contract basis.
Therefore, CTAN has urged the responsible authority “to be bound by P&AR rules and not come up with unnecessary special drive recruitment in the already confused NPSC.”
