Akato-led NSCN group releases 3 members of NSCN Khango group

Akato-led NSCN on Thursday informed that the group has “unconditionally” released three officials of NSCN (Isak-Khango) in the presence of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) and civil society organisations (CSOs) of Kuhuboto including KGPO, KGKK, KGSTH and KGSA.
In a press release, the group stated that the three released persons included deputy kilonser Kughavi Achumi, deputy kilonser Yetoshe Aye and tatar Kuhokhe Yeptho. Akato-led NSCN has, however, reminded that its “act of benevolence should not be misconstrued as weakness”, adding that it would be “most unfortunate” if at all such misconception arose.
The group also stated that it took the step “as a show of respect” to the request made by NNPGs convenor N Kitovi Zhimomi and WSH led by its president Shikaho Zhimomi besides other Kuhuboto CSOs “aiming at building serene atmosphere and peace overtures.”
It said that some leaders from CSOs, who also spoke, acknowledged the “good gesture and maturity shown by the NSCN/GPRN.”
Further, the group said that one of the released officials, on behalf of his other two friends, acknowledged the “selfless acts done by the CSOs to facilitate their release and also appreciated good faith shown by the NSCN”. It said he further declared that they were “neither harassed physically nor mentally but was rather treated well as peers and equals and as another National worker.”
