Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) urges higher & technical education (H&TE) department to reconsider attachment order

Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has appealed to the higher & technical education (H&TE) department to reconsider the attachement order of assistant professors from Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) and Fazl Ali College (FAC) Mokokchung.
In a letter to the commissioner & secretary H&TE, AKM president Lanutoshi Aier and general secretary Satemmongba said at a time when both MCTE and FAC were understaffed, the decision to temporarily transfer seven assistant professors to New Model college, Mangkolemba and New Model College, Wakching was a disheartening.
Appreciating the setting up new colleges, AKM, however, said that the current measures to deploy faculties from FAC and MCTE was bound to have a negative impact on the normal functioning of the affected colleges.
Therefore, AKM has requested the department to reconsider the attachment order in the larger interest of the student community.
Further, AKM hoped that early completion of the ongoing recruitment process by the department and appointment of assistant professors to the New Model Colleges would “be a more just solution” and one that would be to the satisfaction and benefit of all concerned.
