ANTA Wokha unit celebrates ‘Raising Day’

All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha Unit celebrated its “Raising Day cum picnic” Saturday at Chukidong area, Wokha. Speaking at the programme as chief guest, assistant regional transport officer, Wokha, Bendang Longchar enlightened the members of association about the various regulations set by the Transport Department.


He also briefed them on the different types of licenses required for driving transport vehicles, light vehicles, hazardous goods, and excavators.
Lonchar also urged all drivers to responsibly maintain their licenses, vehicles, obtain proper permits, and adhere to Pollution Under Control (PUC) regulations.


On the sidelines, ANTA Wokha unit president, Renbemo Kikon, general secretary, Lipenthung Ovung and former president Hayithung Odyuo spoke to Nagaland Post on various issues confronting the association.

On All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), they said the role of ACVA was to ensure compliance with the “One Government One Tax” policy. They also highlighted the need for better roads in Wokha district.


Regarding taxi rates, the association clarified that the rates are set by the regional transport board members and the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wokha.


The programme was chaired by ANTA Wokha unit general secretary, invocation by A.G Church Chukitong deacon, Eyilo Patton, welcome address by ANTA Wokha unit president, and greetings by ACVA vice president, Y. Evungthung Ezung.
