Ahana Project and National Coalition of People living with HIV (NCPI+) in collaboration with District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) and National Health Mission (NHM) conducted and antenatal HIV screening camp at Naga United Health and Wellness Centre on February 2.
According to a press release, the camp was conducted to create awareness among the community, especially among pregnant women on the importance of HIV testing for early treatment linkage if detected HIV positive.
The early treatment for a HIV positive pregnant woman would reduce the risk of HIV transmission to her unborn baby, the release stated.
