Five persons have been penalized for selling tobacco products near the educational institutions during raids carried out by the enforcement personnel on June 4 in Longkhim town.
According to DMO, NHM Tuensang, Apheang, the raid was carried out by District Tobacco Control Cell, Tuensang along with anti-tobacco squad from Longkhim Police station and Longkhim Students Union in and around schools areas.
The team was led by District Consultant (DTCC) Sentilong Longchar and was accompanied by police personnel and Khumliti Yuditsung from Longkhim Students Union.
The team penalized five persons and seized tobacco products were later destroyed at Longkhim Police station. District Consultant (DTCC) Sentilong Longchar, informed that such raids would be conducted frequently and cautioned the shopkeepers to refrain from selling any kind of tobacco products within radius of 100 Meters from Schools.
