APO appeals health minister to address striking nurses’ demand

Extending support to the nurses, who were on strike for service regularisation, the Angami Public Organisation (APO) has appealed to the state health & family welfare (H&FW) minister to immediately intervene and take serious consideration of their demands without any further delay and resolve the issue urgently.
In a letter addressed to H&FW minister, APO president Razouvoto Chatsu and assistant general secretary Lhousito Khro stated that during Covid-19 pandemic, the nurses displayed their utmost bravery by rendering their priceless services to the people of the state.
APO opined that “such selfless souls” should be gratefully and compassionately awarded for their commitment to their calls and credit them with dignity and respect.
APO has, however, lamented that instead of acknowledging their sacrifices, their appointment order was “distorted from the real advertisement notice and degraded them with untold miseries.” APO has expressed the view that human dignity and selfless sacrifices needed “a human heart and a human touch to address their profound pleas.”
