AR conducts various activities

Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised wreath laying ceremony and other welfare activities across the state.
Miao Battalion organised a wreath laying ceremony at Unit War Memorial in Zunheboto on January 8.
The event was conducted to pay respect to late Rfn(GD) Telugu Adi Narayan, SM (Posthumous) who made supreme sacrifice for the nation on January 8, 2003 in Ratanpur, Tripura. On the occasion, NOK of the braveheart was contacted for their wellbeing and were assured of necessary assistance.
Shamatore Battalion organised a lecture and awareness programme on ill effects of drug abuse on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” at Dan village, Noklak district on January 8.
The awareness was conducted to address the pertinent issues of drug addiction which has emerged to be a serious concern in the country, especially among the younger generation.
In another activities, Dimapur Battalion provided assistance to the candidates appearing for Sainik School by providing transportation from Doyapur and Kashiram Basti to Kendriya vidyalaya, Sewak road, Dimapur on January 8. Earlier, the battalion also conducted out online registration in Dimapur and Chumukedima and coaching classes to prepare for entrance exam. A total of 66 students were appearing for the exam out of which 24 were from places Doyapur and 13 were from Kashiram Basti.
