As part of the civic action programme under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) various battalions of Assam Rifles organised welfare activities for the local populace across the state.
Ghaspani Battalion organised a lecture-cum-interactive session on various employment opportunities as well as career opportunities at Kukidolong village on February 17.
The event was organised as part of the awareness drive on youth and women empowerment and was attended by 30 civilians including youth and teachers.
The battalion also provided computers and digital accessories for Modernisad Middle School at Piphema village, Chumukedima district on February 17.
Mokokchung battalion conducted a week long ‘Stress Management and Training Program’ for the troops and families at Mokokchung Garrison, Mokokchung from February 12-17.
The yoga session was conducted as part of Art of Living initiative by Ministry of Home Affairs to spread awareness and practice aerobic breathing and new yoga techniques to maintain a stress free environment.
Meanwhile, Jalukie battalion conducted security meet at Nzauna village, Peren district on February 17. The aim of the meeting was to discuss issues related to security of the area for the upcoming assembly election.
Sharing of information for any untoward incidents, coordination and convergence on the issues of mutual interest between security forces and public were also deliberately discussed at the meeting. The meeting was attended by 17 villages. Tuensang battalion also organised a security meet at Wangti village, Mon district on February 15.
The security aspects were discussed among the appointment and the locals assured their full support and cooperation to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incident in the region. The meeting was organized in presence of the Village Council, GBs, Student Union and local population.
