Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted various activities on February 22 and 25, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North).
According to PRO defence, Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) organised wreath laying ceremony and paid homage to its brave heart late Naik Tek Bahadur Thapa, KC (P), in Kohima on February 25.
The Braveheart had made supreme sacrifice in line of duty in Mizoram on February 25, 1983. Narayani Devi (75), the wife of Braveheart, who is in Nepal was felicitated by the battalion, who walked 15 km on foot to be in good mobile network location and virtually witnessed the wreath laying ceremony in honor of her late husband.
Kohima battalion of AR reached out to Science College Jotsoma on February 22, as a run up to the upcoming “National Science Day”.
An officer from Kohima Battalion interacted with the students and faculty of Kohima Science College and felicitated them for their contribution to the society. “National Science Day” is an annual observance adopted by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) of Government of India since 1986 to commemorate the great inventions and discoveries in the field of science by the great Indian scientists and also to provide an opportunity to scientific minded students and professionals to excel in the field of science. “National Science Day” is usually observed on February 28, but the event was celebrated on February 22, in view of the college being closed on February 28.
