AR lecture on Free Movement Regime

Phek and Kiphire battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted awareness lectures on “Free Movement Regime” at Akhen and Pungro on January 23 and 24 respectively.

According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the topic “Free Move Regime Policy” was covered in the lecture. Under this, citizens of India and Myanmar holding valid border passes, issued by competent authorities can enter and stay within 16 kms on either sides of the Indo-Myanmar border for a maximum period of 14 days. Rules and regulations of “Free Movement Regime” were also covered.  22 residents attended the lecture from Aken village, while 32 village guards attended the lecture in Pungro.
