Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) executed various welfare activities across the state. Kiphire battalion constructed a public toilet at khongsa village, Pungro sub division, Kiphire district under Assam Rifles Civic Action Project for the financial year 2022-23 and handed over the same to the villagers on January 2.
A press release by AR sources said that the initiative will help the village achieve their goal of making Khongsa village free from open defecation. The villagers assured full cooperation with security forces and vowed to put maximum effort to be part of Swachh Bharat Mission. Tuensang battalion of Assam Rifles distributed solar lights to villages at Noykhu, Mon district on January 3. The residents appreciated the efforts of the battalion.
HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a dinner programme to celebrate the New Year with the Goanburas of Kohima Village under Kohima district on December 30. Altogether 17 Gaonburas from different khels under Kohima Village attended the event. The dinner was hosted by Brig Herjinder Singh, DIG, HQ 5 Sector. K N Sekhose, former president Angami Public Organisation also graced the occasion. Mokokchung battalion also organised feast on the eve of New Year for the villagers of Wakching and Shiong at Wakching COB Mon district on December 30.The event witnessed active participation of 22 villagers including Angh, chairman, council members and GBs of both the villages.
In another programme, Tuensang battalion distributed winter clothing for children and resident at Kangnyu, Chenloisho Wangto Village, Mon district on December 31.
