Army imparts training to Veterinary interns

Spear Corps of Indian Army under operation Sadbhavna conducted “equine training course” for Veterinary inters at Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur from November 14 to 19.
According to a press release from defence source, 26 Veterinary Internship students of College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie were trained in finer aspects of equine medicine, surgery and management by Army Veterinary Hospital.
The release stated that such projects of Indian Army were aimed at transferring the inherent knowledge and skill sets available to benefit the students and people of the state.
On the occasion Station Commander, Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur appreciated the efforts of Army Veterinary Hospital in augmenting the therapeutic and diagnostic skills of budding veterinarians.
He was convinced that the course would serve to strengthen the bond between Indian Army and the youth of North East.
He also presented certificates and Equine training manuals to all the trainees.
Dr. I. Shakuntala Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Nagaland in his speech lauded the effort of the Army in undertaking such projects which provide specialized knowledge. She emphasized that such projects have positive impact on animal welfare in the state and requested the Indian Army to conduct more such specialized technical courses in near future.
Officer Commanding Army Veterinary Hospital emphasized on invaluable understanding of Equine management and treatment which will enable young veterinarians to cope up with future challenges. He congratulated the interns on completion of course and also appreciated the whole hearted efforts of the team of Army Veterinary Hospital Rangapahar Military Station.
