Assembly Polls: 101 file papers on last day

On the last day of filing nomination to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) election scheduled to be held on February 27, 2023, 101 candidates including standby candidates filed nomination papers before their respective returning officers on Tuesday.
According to CEO office, four candidates each filed nomination papers in Dimapur and Tseminyu, six each in Peren, Kohima,Tuensang, Noklak and Phek, 13 in Mokokchung, five each in Zunheboto and Wokha, 22 in Mon, three in Longleng, eight in Kiphire, three in Chumoukedima and two in Shamator.
Altogether, 225 candidates have filed their nominations for the February 27 Nagaland Assembly elections. The last date for withdrawal is on February 10.
Meanwhile, RJD candidate for 1 Dimapur I assembly constituency, Kiyazhe Shohe, withdrew nominations.
