DIMAPUR: Agricultural Technology Managemenet Agency (ATMA) Tuensang conducted Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) programme in association with State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Medziphema and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) Hyderabad, from February 21 to 26, at Community hall Kuthur village, Chessore block Tuensang.
A press release by ATMA Tuensang, stated that resource person, Horticulture Officer, Limba Chang, took up various sessions on importance and scope of mushroom cultivation, varities of mushroom, sources of spawn, seasons for cultivation, mushroom bed preparation, commercial mushroom production, cultivation of shitake mushroom, harvesting and market linkage, etc. along with demonstrations.
The release added that the training covered topic on on “Mushroom Production Techniques”.
Deputy Project Director and course director, Yanglen Jami spoke on the importance and objective of training programme which aimed at imparting skill-based training to rural youth to promote employment in rural areas, while interaction and evaluation sessions were held at the end of the programme.
Altogether, 28 unemployed youths from Kuthur village under Chessore block participated in the training programme.
