DIMAPUR: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) blocks of Kuhuboto and Peren conducted trainings and demonstrations for farmers.
Kuhuboto: ATMA Kuhuboto block conducted training on “package of practices for cultivation of ginger” on March 23 at Ghokito village under Kuhuboto block.
Peren: ATMA Peren block conducted training and demonstration on March 25 and 26 at Peletkie and Mhainamtsi village.
During the programme, resource person ATM, Dr. Kekiepeu Nza trained farmers on “management of piglets and sow” where he emphasised on feeding technique, disease management, genetic disorder due to close mating system, etc.
Meanwhile, resource person ATM, Kibale, demonstrated and deliberated on benefits of mushroom cultivation and its contribution in economic growth of a family. She also demonstrated cultivation practices of French beans where hands on demonstration on field preparation, line sowing, spacing, etc., were shared.
Later, ATM Shanchothung Shitiri, demonstrated cultivation practices of ginger where he emphasised on the ideal planting time.
Seeds, hand gloves, mushroom spawns and polybags were distributed to all the farmers.
Kiphire: ATMA Kiphire, Pungro block organised training and demonstration on March 24 and 25 at Pungro and Jenty village.
Resource person ATM Asa Tep, ATM, Takutoshi and ATM, Merenungba Imchen highlighted on importance of vermin composting in agri and Horti production and explained on how to use low cost materials.
Complete procedures, required raw materials, market value etc were further explained by resource persons, while KCC loan, Kissan call center were also highlighted to farmers.
