Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Phek, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema organized awareness programme on “Recent Agricultural Technologies-cum-Seed distribution” on February 17 at KVK Phek premises, Porba.
Delivering welcome address, Dr. T. Esther Longkumer, Senior Scientist and Head incharge gave a brief introduction on the “Recent Agricultural Technologies”.
She also explained about the French bean cultivation practices as it was one of the most demand crop of the district.
Farm manager, Keniseto Chucha spoke on the nursery management of vegetable crops as one of the most important activity in farming.
ACTO-Agronomy, Dr Hannah K Asangla elaborated on the package and practices of maize cultivation for higher production and productivity.
Stephen Dukru, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Pfutsero spoke on the Recent Agricultural Technologies relevant to Phek district.
He briefly explained about the HYV, organic agriculture, precision agriculture, vertical farming, aerophonic, hydrophonic farming, use of drones for agricultural purposes, etc. An interaction programme and exhibition of farmer’s friendly technologies was conducted and displayed at the event.
Maize and French bean seeds were distributed to the farmers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Er Nukusa T Vadeo, TO (Computer).
