An awareness program on HIV and AIDS and blood donation was organized by the Red Ribbon Committee, Pfutsero Government College (PGC) on September 16. Dr. Vepfuhu Kezo, MD (General Medicine), Medical Officer, CHC Pfutsero graced the event as resource speaker.
In the first session, the resource speaker spoke on the topic “Awareness on HIV and AIDS & Drug Abuse” where he highlighted on the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of HIV and AIDS; and the availability of ICTC facility at CHC, Pfutsero. In the second session on “Benefits of Blood Donation” the resource speaker enlightened the participants on the eligibility and criteria for blood donation and the importance of blood donation. Free blood grouping and ICTC service was provided to the students and faculty of PGC.
