Awareness programme on NEAT held in Kohima

DIMAPUR: An awareness on National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) for various student skill-oriented initiatives of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was held on April 13 in the conference hall of directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, AICTE assistant director, Vipin Kumar demonstrated AICTE internship portal, ELIS, NEAT portal and showed functionality and facilities of the portals.
He also presented the statistics of various portals till date.
In his speech, Technical Education, director Er. M. Nakro said, “In Nagaland, due to remote and hill areas, lesser industries are available and students are facing problems to find the suitable internship opportunities and other skill enhancement activities in real-time projects.”
He said the initiatives explained and demonstrated during the awareness programme would definitely help the people of Nagaland overcome the problem and would help in enhancing employability skills of students of Nagaland State.
“These kinds of initiatives taken by AICTE are really useful for upskilling, reskilling the students,” said Er. Nakro.
The report stated that under these initiatives, enrolled candidates would be aided by a series of learning content provided AICTE Internship platform, NEAT Portal and ELIS portal.
A detailed presentation about the AICTE internship portal, ELIS portal, NEAT scheme was carried out and the principals, senior lectures and officials of the DTE Nagaland attended the programme.
The programme was chaired by OSD, technical education, David Tsela and additional director, Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu delivered the vote of thanks.
