UDA co-chairman and NPF Legislature Party Leader Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu has asked why was the government of India “stopping for the final inking of the decade old Naga political issue?”
NPF press bureau informed that Azo, said this while speaking as the inaugural guest at the 52nd Phek Basa Sports meet, where he also demanded that the final inking to the Naga issue should be done before Christmas.
Azo demanded that before the final signing, the Centre bring out the common draft and place it before the public domain for the consensus of the public opinion.
Azo maintained that NPF was committed towards bringing a final solution to the Naga political issue, which is honourable, acceptable and inclusive. Azo said that NPF’s priority was “for solution and not election.”
Further, Azo claimed that NPF was not a party that chased after power or position, but stood for the cause of the Naga people and the welfare of the Naga people. He maintained that NPF has joined the UDA government not for any other reason, but to have “a collective effort of all the legislators for the early settlement of the Naga political issue.”
NPFLP leader also stated that party MLAs were ready to pave way if any solution arrived. He, however, said that if the election commission announced election date then the NPF would have no option but to contest the election. He expressed optimism that NPF would form the next government. Azo said that NPF, which “represents the Naga people”, was gaining its “stand day by day.”
Meanwhile, NPF leader urged the BJP-led government at the Centre to be faithful with its election slogan ‘election for solution’. He said BJP should live up to its commitment.
