Bank Sakhi in Nagaland, nurtured by Nagaland State Rural livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), during its two-day refresher training on March 29-30 at Kohima, has re-committed to dedicate service towards achieving nil Non-Performing Asset (NPA), and to render better service to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) with the available support and cooperation of bank branch officials.
A press release by State Program Manager-Financial Inclusion (SPM-FI), informed that at the training the Bank Sakhi also re-committed to facilitate savings bank account opening to all SHG members, universalization of insurance enrolment and enhancement in credit linkage through offline and online applications.
Resource person of the training, SPM-FI, NSRLM, Rajuselie Lhousa spoke on saturation savings bank account opening, facilitating credit linkage to 70% of SHGs, scaling up enterprise financing to individuals, and universalization in insurance schemes.
He also sensitized the participants on the upcoming opportunity of applying loan through online known as “Jan Samarth”, adding that SHGs requiring finance from the banks should be made available to them.
Lhousaalso suggested that the Community-Based Repayment Mechanism (CBRM) meeting be conducted monthly so that the agenda of scaling up credit linkage and regular repayment are monitored.
He said that the SHG loan was becoming most reliable product of the banks in the country. He then sought the cooperation of Bank Sakhi to support the Financial Literacy Community Resource Persons (FLCRP) and Business Correspondent (BC) Sakhi who are taking forward the national programs such as “Financial Literacy Campaign” and “Promotion of Digital Transaction at GP level Campaign” under AKAM 2.0 up to August 15, 2023.
At the programme, Bank Sakhis also addressed the gathering. Altogether 116 bank sakhi are sitting in different bank branches covering all the district.
