Bethesda Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Dimapur observed its 24th “Parents Day” here on Monday at its school auditorium with Y Lima Onen Chang as the chief guest. The programme was held under the theme “Together we mould, happy and hopeful children”, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalms 139:14.
Speaking at the programme, the chief guest lauded the school for grooming the students not only in educational field but also for imparting holistic approach. He urged upon the institution to mould the students with not just educational qualifications but to learn to inculcate skills and confidence to explore and venture out into the world.
Chang also called upon the students to make better use of their learning years so that the knowledge and education that they imparted from the institutions will not be a liability for the parents.
He also pointed out that unemployment has become a “threatening issue” in the state of Nagaland and therefore he encouraged the students to focus on skill development and also hoped that the institutions will focus on the same.
During the celebration, students also enthralled the gathering by performing various shows such as dance, songs, fusion dance, unity in diversity, etc. The programme was chaired by Lucy Chuilo and Kidunwiliu, invocation prayer was proposed by Dimapur Baptist Women Union (DBWU) president Khontele Seb and welcome address was delivered by school principal Johnson. Later, exhortation and prayer were offered by school chairman, AGEI superintendent and Christian Forum Dimapur president, Rev. Moses Murry.
