District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) Tuensang organized “Anti-Tobacco Motorcycle Rally” in collaboration with Frontier En-Bloc (FREE) motorcycle club Tuensang, under the theme “Choose Life, Not Tobacco’’ stand up against tobacco on February 18.
A press release by DMO, NHM Tuensang, Apheang informed that at the programme, SDPO Tuensang, Manish Bhartiya spoke on the importance of spreading awareness of tobacco effect amongst police personnel and highlighted on the future collaboration with District Tobacco Control Cell.
MS district hospital Tuensang Dr. Puse Leigise stated that district hospital Tuensang has been declared as tobacco free zone and the bike rally was an important initiative to spread the effects of tobacco in the society.
Dr. Firdous Ahmad highlighted on the different types of cancer caused by tobacco.
He also appreciated the anti-tobacco bike rally and encouraged all the bikers to spread the message of ill effects of tobacco.
President FREE motorcycle club Tuensang, Changkumba thanked the DTCC for organising the programme and assured support and collaboration in the future as well.
The programme was chaired by district consultant, DTCC Sentilong Longchar, vote of thanks by Jr. Dental Specialist, Dr. Aoyanger.
Around 15 bike riders along with other officials attended the programme.
