Under the initiative of Jalukie Town Council (JTC), biodegradable carry bags and products aimed at introducing eco-friendly alternatives to conventional plastic bags was launched at the Women’s Welfare Hall in Jalukie Town on August 31.
According to a DIPR report, addressing the gathering as special guest, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar lauded local entrepreneurs for their efforts in developing the biodegradable carry bags and products. Highlighting their significance as a sustainable substitute for plastic bags, Kumar urged the business community to embrace these eco-friendly options and collaborate with the Town Council in fostering a cleaner and better future.
The event was presided over by EAC Jalukie, Sizin Renttah, welcome speech and keynote address were delivered by ADC & Administrator of Jalukie Town Council, T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir.
An informative presentation on the benefits of biodegradable products was also conducted by the proprietors of Warehouse 103, Talunibo and Nukuzo.
