Former president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) K Therie on Friday said that dismissal of Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh was the only way to usher in peace in Manipur.
In a statement, Therie said that Biren Singh was the factor peace was eluding in Manipur. “He is the executioner of the RSS idea of Hindutva. He was made to task to seriously persuade the idea,” claimed Therie.
Asserting that all the North East states were under serious pressure, Therie said Manipur was burning, Sikkim in protest, Nagaland public under siege from 18 factions, RSS was prospering in Arunachal Pradesh, Hindutva was in force in Tripura, Assam government was championing Hindutva while Mizoram and Meghalaya, although have reservation with RSS, yet they support BJP at the Centre for their survival.
Alleging that no one was safe under BJP, the former PCC president said ruling government live in fear of NIA, ED and CBI while tribals, adivasis and minority religions live in fear of their life and future.
After removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, he alleged that the “heart-burn” for RSS was Art.371 and its clauses. “They are doing everything in the Northeast to neutralize or remove Art. 371 special protections,” claimed Therie, adding that BJP has chosen judiciary path for Sikkim and Manipur.
Further, Therie claimed that as per reports over 3,000 arms and 5,00,000 ammunitions were given to Arambai Tengol and Meitei Leepun, the Meite Hindu radicals to fight against Christian Kukis.
“The act is no less than fanatic and treason to own people and Nation,” he said, adding that it was crime against humanity and deliberate violation of constitution.
“It is clear case of breakdown of the Constitution. Law and order have completely collapsed,” Therie said and questioned what more was required to dismiss the government that was killing and destroying its subjects and properties.
Describing the situation as “madness self-destruction”, Therie said that over 121 Churches torched and burnt down.
Citing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s purported assurance for “permanent solution” during election campaign at Imphal in 2021, Therie queried whether the PM meat permanent solution “to eliminate Christian tribals permanently.”
Stating that till now Prime Minister was dumb, Union Home Minister has lost control and Governor Peace Committee has been boycotted, former PCC chief said parties would not join peace committee as along as Biren Singh was chief minister and member of the peace committee.
In this regard, Therie said it was time the President of India intervene though “we understand Rashtrapati is under siege.”
Former NPCC president has also urged the Congress MPs in North East and NECCC to apprise President of India for her intervention.
