BJP 1 Dimapur 1 Mandal inter-ward tournament concludes

A two-day BJP 1 Dimapur 1 Mandal inter-ward tournament concluded on Thursday, here at Dimapur District Sports Complex (DDSC) with advisor, Power, H Tovihoto Ayemi gracing the closing ceremony as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Ayemi spoke on the importance and role played by sports as a universal language and how it could unite the nations, build relationship and friendship between nations. He pointed out that sports have no barriers, religion, custom, culture, language or economic status.
The special guest apprised the participants on the professionalism and team spirit displayed by all teams. He also acknowledged the organizers for organizing the tournament and urged the same to host such tournament annually so as to come together and get to know one another better.
He later congratulated all winners and participants for the success of the tournament.
Speaking on the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks, Ayemi stated that it was the dream and desire of all Nagas to see a settlement to the decade long peace talks, adding that it would be the most memorable for all Nagas.
Ayemi further added that if elections were to be held next year, he reminded that NDPP and BJP would go ahead with the said pre poll alliance seat sharing (40-20) and expressed hope that UDA would continue.
Earlier, the closing ceremony was chaired by Matsung Ozukum and vote of thanks was proposed by general secretary, Yuva Morcha 1 Dimapur 1 Mandal, Chunthailung K Kamei.
In men’s football, Ward 5 emerged as the winner while Ward 4 bagged the runners-up. In women’s volleyball, Ward 22 was the winner and Dimapur District Mahila Morcha stood second. In men’s tug-of-war, Ward 6 clinched the winner title while Ward 8 emerged as runners-up. In women’s tug-of-war, Ward 6 was the winner and Ward 9 took the runners-up title.
