A book titled “Journey of an Evangelist- Ministry of J. Onen Ao” written by Rev. O. Alem was released on November 20 by associate pastor, Ao Baptist Church Padumpukhuri, Chubatemjen. The book was the 64th publication of PenThrill.
In his author’s introduction, Rev. O Alem appealed the readers to look at the book through the lens of an evangelist.
The book was based on the life story of late J. Onenlepden Ao, father of the author who took the gospel to the eastern Nagas tribes namely the Sangtam, Chang, Yimkhiung, Phom and Khiamniungan.
He thanked Sentinaro Longkumer for translating the book and for helping him formulate the chapters and assisting him in the formation of the book. Rev. O Alem also thanked his “daughter and son-in-law who took all the pain in editing the manuscript to make reading more comfortable and my beloved wife, whose constant encouragement kept me in the process of writing.”
The book also carries a blurb by Rev. Dr. A. Temjen Jamir, Principal of Clark Theological College, who stated that “The Journey of an Evangelist in the person of Rev. J. Onen Ao (Onenlepden) authored by Rev. O Alem was a priceless and unique contribution”.
Rev. O. Alem Ao surrendered his life to Christ and committed to serve God in 1961. He was later ordained by ABAM (Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang), Impur in 1979 and subsequently conferred Professor by Clark Theological College in 1984. He also served as Principal of Clark Theological College from 1981-2000, Executive Secretary of Ao Baptist Church Association from 2001-2011 and Principal of Discipleship Bible College, Mt. Miracle, Dimapur from 2014-2017.
