Three passed-out cadets from Sainik School Punglwa namely Tapi Moda, Obed Newmai and Hinoto Kakishe Yepthomi have brought laurels for the school by joining the armed forces in various capacities.
A press release issued by Sainik School Punglwa have expressed their excitement to have three of its passed-out cadets for achieving the aim of Sainik School to send its cadets to the Armed Forces.
Cadet Tapi Moda joined the officers’ training academy, Chennai through NCC Special Entry Scheme in October 2022 while cadet Obed Newmai, now a doctor, has joined the Indian Air Force as flight lieutenant on January 31 as a medical officer.
Cadet Hinoto Kakishe Yepthomi has also qualified and cleared Services Selection Board for SSC TECH entry and would be joining OTA Chennai in the first week of April 2023.
Besides this, 28 cadets are undergoing Engineering at premier institutions including at IITs and NITs and six cadets are pursuing Medicine. “There are number of other cadets who are doing exceedingly well in other walks of life”, the release said.
It stated that their success has won laurels to Sainik School Punglwa and added another feather in the cap of the school.
Principal SSPN, Gp Capt RK Yadav, has conveyed congratulations to the former cadets, their parents and the teachers for moulding their future.
He also conveyed his gratitude to the State Government for providing support and cooperation in smooth functioning of Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland and achieving its aim of “We Learn, We Serve”.
