Candidates kick off poll campaigns

Intending candidates for assembly election 2023 kicked off their campaigns from their respective constituencies on February 14.
Tongpang Ozukum: NDPP candidate from 24th Angetyongpang A/C, Tongpang Ozukum kicked off the poll campaign at Tongdentsuyong ward, Mokokchung.
He later proceeded to Impur and attended the prayer programme organised by ABAM.
S Supongmeren Jamir: The flag hoisting and declaration of ex-MLA and Congress candidate from 25 Mongoya A/C, S Supongmeren Jamir was held at ACC Bhavan, Artang Ward on Tuesday. In his speech, Supongmeren said that Mongoya has always been the hub of Congress and with this in mind, he was contesting on Congress ticket. Earlier, the flag was unfurled by DCC president, Watimongba Aier, who also delivered a short speech.
NPP Nagaland: National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland unit kicked off the election campaign in favour of Tsungro Kithan, the party’s candidate from 40 Bhandari A/C under Wokha district on February 13, at Khakuthato village in Northern Sumi Region.
A press release from NPP Nagaland stated that the programme was spearheaded by the NPP State president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sumi, State vice presidents, Simon Yepthomi and Khehoto, State general secretary (Organization), Philip Lam along with a host of other party executives including youth and women wing leaders. As part of the campaign the NPP team along with the party executives of Wokha district also visited the nearby Champang Oil Field area.
Er. Meshenlo Kath: Congress candidate from 9th Kohima town A/C, Er. Meshenlo Kath kicked off his campaign on Tuesday. In his speech, he lamented that Nagaland was the only state without medical college and the absence of infrastructure.
