CCoNPI to meet on July 16

Core Committee on Naga Political Issue (CCNPI) has decided to call for a Parliamentary Core Committee meeting that include all 60 legislators and two members of Parliament at the conference hall of the State Legislative Assembly on July 16.
Speaking to media persons after the CCoNPI meeting held at the official residence of the chief minister here on Thursday, Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs minister Neiba Kronu said only few members, around 15, attended the meeting and no resolution was adopted.
“There is some gap on Naga talks, so we feel that they should come closer,” he said. In this regard, Kronu said the meeting decided to convene another meeting on July 16 with all the members and have serious and thorough deliberation on the Naga issue, adding that the stand of the Core Committee would be decided at the July 16 meeting. Since a mock exercise for the Presidential election would be held on July 16, Kronu said all members including the two MPs day would be present on that day.
