Centre not serious about resolving Naga issue: Azo

NPF Legislature Party Leader (NPFLP) Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on Thursday said that the Central government was not serious about bringing the decades-old Naga political issue to a logical conclusion and accused it of failing to table the Naga issue in the recently-concluded winter session of Parliament.
It may be recalled that Azo, who is also the UDA co-chairman, on December 15 said that if the Central government was sincere on resolving the Naga political issue, then it should table Naga political issue during the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament, which began from December 7.
Speaking at a function held to mark the golden jubilee of Thürütsüswümi Students’ Union (TSU), he said Naga people had high hopes for a final solution, but the Central government had dashed the hopes.
He maintained and asserted that NPF would always remain committed to and strive for an early solution to the Naga political issue that was honourable, inclusive and acceptable.
Azo pointed out that since solution before election was a distant dream for the moment, the 14th general election was imminent and called upon Nagas to be mentally prepared as the Election Commission could anytime announce the election schedule.
He maintained that election was a mechanism to either shape or design our future and destiny or destroy our future and hence called upon the people to choose and vote for the right party and the right leader to represent them.
He thanked the pioneers of TSU, toppers and those students who had come out with flying colours and brought laurel to the community and further wished them the very best in all their endeavours. This was stated in a communiqué issued by NPF.
