Government of India representative for Naga talks, AK Mishra and NSCN (I-M) delegation led by member collective leadership VS Atem “resumed” the political negotiations here on Wednesday.
According to highly placed sources, Wednesday’s meeting was “fruitful”. However, both sides will continue the parleys and deliberate on certain contentious issues, it added.
Sources said that though Centre had handed over the “formulation papers” to the NSCN (I-M), Government of India was prepared to relook, based on further negotiations.
According to media reports, a Central team was working on a new set of ‘formulation papers’ which would include both new and old set of offers so as to facilitate inking of a final peace pact at the earliest.
The Centre’s stand is that demand for flag and constitution could be agreed post-solution within some parameters– Naga flag for Pan Naga cultural body and to term the final agreement as Naga “Yehzabo”.
