NSCN (I-M) leadership is likely to hold talks with Government of India’s representative for Naga political talks, AK Mishra in Delhi this week.
Highly placed sources informed that a delegation of NSCN (I-M) leaders have already reached Delhi while more were expected arrive the national capital soon.
It may be mentioned that AK Mishra during his recent visit to Nagaland held series of meetings with the NSCN (I-M) leadership led by its general secretary and chief negotiator Th. Muivah.
Though several rounds of meetings have been held in Nagaland, sources said that there were still some issues that needed to be worked out.
However, sources said that Centre was firm on resolving the decades old Naga political issue by bringing about an inclusive solution that would be acceptable to all and lasting. And for this to happen, a consensus is needed to be arrived at for “one solution/agreement,” sources added.
During his week-long visit to Nagaland, Mishra took note of the views shared by various Naga Political Groups and also the civil society organizations. The same has been briefed by Mishra to his “higher ups”, sources stated.
Sources said that the role of Mishra is to carry forward what has been already discussed between the NPGs and the former interlocutor. Government of India is clear on its part and it is committed to resolve the Naga issue once and for all, sources said.
