CEO Nagaland asks officers to be dedicated

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar while highlighting the important role played by the Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) in the conduct of election asked them to be dedicated and efficient in their service to the people.
Shekhar then encouraged the officers to focus on their mandated role with utmost dedication and deliver service to the people with efficiency. “Elections are at the heart of a democratic system of governance,” added the CEO.
In a press release, CEO Nagaland office stated that the CEO was addressing the inaugural programme of a four-day Certification Programme for ROs and AROs of Nagaland Tuesday at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima.
The programme was chaired by additional CEO, Ruokuovituo Khezhie; overview of the programme was given by Jt. CEO, Sharon Longchari and DCEO, Alila Chang and vote of thanks delivered by Jt. CEO, Awa Lorin.
CEO Nagaland office informed that the programme being held in view of the forthcoming general election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023 would be conducted in two simultaneous batches from November 1-4 (Phase-I) and November 22-25 (Phase-II).
The first phase of the programme is being conducted for the districts – Dimapur, Peren, Phek, Mokokchung, Wokha, Kiphire, Chumoukedima, Tseminyu and Pughoboto and the second phase of training will be for the districts – Kohima, Zunheboto, Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, Noklak and Shamator.
The four days simultaneous training programme is being conducted by resource persons/National Level Master Trainers (NLMTs) deputed by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The various sessions will include electoral roll, qualification and disqualifications, nomination, scrutiny of nominations, withdrawal of candidature and allotment of symbol, District Election Management Plan (DEMP) including COVID guidelines, Vulnerability Mapping, Systematic Voter Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Model Code of Conduct (MCC), IT applications, postal ballot, ETPBS, Media Certification & Monitoring Committee (MCMC) and paid news, law and order, expenditure monitoring and accounts on election expenditure, polling party and poll day management, service voter portal, observer portal, EVM-VVPAT Administrative procedure, NGRS
The inaugural programme was attended by NLMTs – joint CEO, Rajasthan, Pratibha Parekh and joint CEO, Jammu & Kashmir, Anil Salgotra.
